Luke 9:23-24| “Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.”

1. When have you tried with all your might to hold onto something that you ended up losing?
2. How many people will face the reality of ‘losing life?’ What must one do to ‘gain’ life?
3. What are some ways we try to hang onto our lives?  
4. Sometimes we can be tempted to ‘give up our lives’ for something other than the gospel, or Jesus’ sake.  What are some examples of that in your life?
5. How can we ‘die’ so that we will ultimately live?  What does denying ourselves, and taking  up our crosses daily look like for us?
